Terms of Use
Agreement to these terms
By downloading or using Parlo (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. Parlo is made by Codenoodle ("we", "our", "us").
What the Service does
Parlo uses your device's microphone to transcribe speech and translate it between two languages you choose, live, while you record. Translation is provided by a third-party speech service and needs an internet connection. How your audio is handled is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Free minutes, subscriptions and packs
Every new install includes a one-time trial of 10 free minutes. Minutes are counted while Parlo is recording.
Parlo Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, billed monthly or yearly through Apple's App Store at the price shown before you buy. It includes 500 minutes per billing month; unused minutes do not roll over. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, and the subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it in your App Store account settings. Minute packs are one-time purchases that add minutes to your balance.
Apple collects payment and is the merchant of record. The app is licensed to you under Apple's Standard End User License Agreement, except where these Terms say otherwise.
Refunds
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under Apple's policies, at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something isn't working, we would rather fix it, so please tell us first.
Translations can be wrong
Parlo is machine translation. It can mishear, mistranslate or miss words, especially with background noise, accents, names, slang or specialist vocabulary. It is not a certified interpreter. Do not rely on it alone where a mistake could cause harm, such as medical, legal, financial or emergency situations, and confirm anything important another way.
Recording other people
Parlo transcribes everyone it can hear. Let the people you are talking with know you are using it, and follow the laws that apply to you about recording or transcribing conversations.
Acceptable use
Use the Service lawfully. Do not abuse, overload or attempt to get around how minutes are counted, and do not copy, modify, resell, reverse engineer or extract the app's source code, except where the law expressly allows it.
Changes and availability
We may change, suspend or discontinue features of the Service. We aim to keep it running smoothly but cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. If we materially change these Terms we will update the date above; continuing to use the Service means you accept the changes.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is", and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions made based on a translation. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.
